1) Carbonate Sedimentologist (REF#GL07):


The applicant will be required to work within multi-disciplinary teams to provide sedimentological and stratigraphic support for active projects form our clients. Contributions to the understanding of controls on reservoir quality, assessment of the 3D distribution of reservoir facies, evaluation of rock properties and the integration of petrographic and wireline log data would be expected. Development of depositional models and reservoir stratigraphy with emphasis on identifying and understanding later diagenetic modifications that may have affected final reservoir quality that will be utilized as input to 3D geocellular models are required. Successful candidates would be expected to bring state of the art approaches to applied stratigraphic reservoir problems.

This role will be jointly responsible for the continued growth of the Applied Carbonate Sedimentology Group in GOT, leading to demonstrable value creation through the use of best practice and innovative techniques. The successful applicant will work together with other specialists as part of a Centre of Excellence for Geosciences in GOT.


Skills and Qualifications:

Successful candidates must have PhD degree in carbonate sedimentology (or equivalent). besides, the candidate must have the following:

  • 3-5 years experience acquired in carbonate sedimentology, preferably within an international context. Knowledge of carbonate petrography and diagenesis.
  • Experience in geological reservoir modeling (reservoir quality and geometry).
  • Knowledge of electric logs interpretation.
  • Full responsability of well studies using cores, samples and electric logs within the framework of worldwide operational projects.
  •  Participation in reservoir evaluations.
  •  Participation in research and training.
  • Working in close collaboration with reservoir engineers, reservoir geologists and geophysicists.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Autonomous, work in team spirit, and adaptable to change.  
  • Good communication skills.


2) QI Geophysicist (REF#GP09):

Contribute to a team of professionals conducting a wide range of high-quality, business-focused projects for the exploration and development assets of our clients. The projects include, for example, image processing, seismic inversion, petrophysical evaluation, structural framework analysis, seismic modeling, volume interpretation, and 3D visualization. Contribute to a working environment where technical and operational excellence is the key to success. Stimulate and implement value-adding technologies and new ways of working that lead to significant improvements in subsurface understanding, have business impact, and provide expert geophysical advice. Execute quantitative interpretation studies, such as amplitude studies, forward modeling, seismic inversion projects, 3D visualization and reservoir monitoring projects, thereby implement a best-practice workflow. Besides, the successful candidate will be coaching and motivating colleagues and contribute to a team spirit that is characterized by performance, co-operation, support, openness, and respect. Promote technical and operational excellence and lateral learning that develop the reputation of the reservoir geophysics team of our company, which build and maintain an excellent dialogue and working relation with customers in the exploration and development assets, and proactively inventories their needs and ways in which the team can contribute to the solution of key business challenges of our clients.
 The major challenge for the QI team is to take advantage of both the ordinary and advanced 2D & 3D seismic data acquisition and processing technology to carry out true state-of-the-art quantitative seismic interpretation. We have integrated projects with contributions from seismic processing, reservoir geophysics and reservoir geology. The QI Geophysicist will enhance the profile of the reservoir geophysics team, be fully committed to the principles of technical and operational excellence and continuously develop own skills and knowledge in the field of geophysics, reservoir geology, petrophysics and reservoir engineering.
The successful candidate will be committed toward integrating hois results with other staff members in the team.

Skills and Qualifications:

The candidate must have an academic degree, BS at least, in geophysics, physics, or a related science. MS or PhD degree would be preferable, besides, the candidate must have the following:

  • 2-6 years of experience in Quantitative interpretation & geological and/or petrophysical expertise will be considered a real advantage for this job. Solid understanding of seismic processing, hands-on experience is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with geophysical reservoir-monitoring techniques is would be an advantage, with ability to think interpretatively.
  • Team-player with customer interaction skills.
  • A good E & P business understanding is essential.
  • Effective interpersonal and Communication skills.


3) Geotechnician (REF#GT05):


Successful candidate will be assisting in laboratory and computer-related geotechnical work starting from rock sample processing, thin section preparation, geochemical sample preparation, advanced rock properties analysis, drafting, an digitization of well logs, and maps, besides assisting in seismic vectorization technology. He may be required to perform routine thin section point counts as well as basic XRD pattern interpretation. He will need to be able to communicate with clients about services we provide, and how we can help address client needs. This job includes clerical duties such as compiling copies of reports, getting images digitized, creating digitized reports on CD’s, making copies, picking up office supplies, etc. 

Skills and Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. He must have BA or BS, preferably in Geology. Besides, the candidate must have the following:

  • 1-2 years of experience working with geological and petrophysical data.
  • Must be able to use and manipulate advanced Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop to provide report-quality thin section and SEM photomicrographs.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Able to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to other employees of the company.
  • Able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
